Jobscan Review 2026: Is It Worth $49.95 a Month?
Live pricing, 358 real reviews, and an honest look at what the match rate does and does not tell you.
Summary
This jobscan review covers Jobscan, the ATS resume checker that returns a match rate and a list of missing keywords for one job description. We audited the live plan page and 358 Trustpilot and G2 reviews: 4.3/5 and 4.1/5. Premium costs $49.95 a month or $89.95 a quarter, refunds are limited to 2 calendar days, and the cover letter tools need heavy editing. Start on the free plan, then decide.
Jobscan is an ATS resume checker that compares your resume with one job description and returns a match rate plus the keywords you are missing. After auditing the live site and reading 358 reviews across Trustpilot (4.3/5) and G2 (4.1/5), our verdict: sharp keyword-gap reports, weak billing terms. Premium costs $49.95 a month or $89.95 a quarter, with a 2-day refund window.

How we audited Jobscan
- Tested for
- 2 days
- Plan paid
- Free plan and public pages audited directly; Quarterly ($89.95) and Monthly ($49.95) verified on the live plan page, no paid subscription purchased
- Version tested
- Live jobscan.co site and plan page, audited October 24-25, 2026
- Test period
- 2026-10-24 → 2026-10-25
We did not upload a resume to Jobscan and we did not pay for Premium, so this is an audit, not a hands-on scoring test. On October 24 and 25, 2026 we captured the homepage, the free resume scanner page, the resume builder page and the live plan page, and checked every price and limit against that plan page rather than repeating older write-ups.
For sentiment we read the Trustpilot profile (344 reviews, 76 of them in the last 12 months), the G2 listing (14 reviews) and the Chrome Web Store page for the job tracker extension (44 ratings). We cross-checked refund terms and the match rate priorities against two independent reviews, Careery (October 2026) and Wobo (July 2026), and we flag below where a claim comes from them instead of from our own capture. Where Jobscan's own pages disagree with the live data, we say so.
Should you use Jobscan?
YES if you...
- You apply to 5-20 roles a month and will actually edit your resume for each job description
- You target large employers running Workday, Greenhouse or Lever, where keyword search is real
- You want a concrete list of missing hard skills, not a vague "be more specific"
- You can commit to one quarter and set a cancellation reminder for day 5
NO if you...
- Five scans a month already cover your applications, because the free plan is enough
- You expect a 90% score to guarantee an interview: one Reddit user reported a rejection within an hour at 98%
- You want a company-tone cover letter without rewriting the draft yourself
- You are on a tight budget and might forget to cancel before the quarterly renewal

Pros & cons
Pros
- Keyword-gap reports are specific and actionable Hard skills, job title and formatting flags come back in seconds, and each scan runs 30+ checks according to Jobscan's own scanner page.
- Free plan is usable, not a locked demo 5 scans a month, 5 findings, a free resume builder with PDF download and a job tracker with a Chrome extension.
- Match rate priorities are published Hard skills first, then education, job title, soft-skill terms and other keywords, so you know what to fix first.
Cons
- Refund window is only 2 calendar days Only if you have not used the service in that billing period, and a 3.5% fee applies. Cancelling does not trigger a refund on its own.
- Trial converts into a 3-month charge Several Trustpilot reviewers say they picked one month and were billed $89.95 for three, or saw a charge attempt inside the trial.
- The match rate is not an ATS simulation It scores keyword overlap against one job description. Jobscan's own recommended 75% is a guideline, not an employer cutoff.
- AI writing needs a heavy edit A 5-star reviewer on September 3, 2026 warned that the generated bullet points "sound stiff", and a cover letter reviewer found the experience unremarkable.
Final verdict
Jobscan does one job well: it shows you which hard skills and job titles your resume misses for a specific posting. If you apply to large employers and will act on the report, the free plan lets you test that workflow before paying, and the Quarterly plan at $29.98 a month is a defensible buy for a focused 3-month search.
It loses points everywhere around the product. At $49.95 a month Monthly is expensive for what is mechanically keyword comparison, the refund window is 2 calendar days with a 3.5% fee, and the trial turns into an $89.95 charge. Treat the subscription as the riskiest part: set a reminder for day 5, cancel the day you sign up if you only need one quarter, and read the match rate as tailoring advice, not a pass or fail.
For the cover letter, Jobscan is a checker, not a writer. Its AI generator is Premium only and paying users call the output stiff, so plan to rewrite it in your own voice.
Recommended for: candidates sending 5-20 tailored applications a month who want a keyword gap list. Not recommended for: anyone who needs a company-tone cover letter, or anyone who will not manage a subscription.
